Welcome to the Texas Crime Prevention Association,
I am Sr. Officer Scott Rhodes of the Grapevine Police Department in Grapevine, Texas and the 2009 – 2010 President of the Texas Crime Prevention Association. I would like to thank you for visiting our web site. I hope you will find it informative and I encourage you to visit the other links on our site.
The Texas Crime Prevention Association (TCPA) is a 501. (c) 4 non-profit organization composed of concerned citizens, private security professionals, loss prevention experts, crime prevention specialists, public safety educators and law enforcement officers from across the state. TCPA was founded on spreading the concepts of crime prevention. We are always eager to learn about new ideas, listen to suggestions, and spread our partnerships through networking.
Our organization is composed of a state board of directors and nine independent regions throughout the State of Texas. Each region is governed by it’s own board of directors. Active individual memberships are $30.00 and sponsor memberships are $300.00 annually. Our members are free to join the region of their choice. Out-of-state members are also welcome.
TCPA sponsors two training conferences a year. Our week long Annual Meeting and Training Conference is held in July. Our three day mid-winter conference is held in January. Our members are able to obtain 24 to 40 hours of T.C.L.E.O.S.E. training at these conferences. Most of our regions also meet regularly on a monthly or quarterly basis.
TCPA is one the few organizations in the United States that offers it’s members a Crime Prevention Specialist Certification. This comprehensive exam and award is given during our training conferences. After looking through our site, please feel free to contact me, or any of the TCPA Regional Presidents for more information. I hope you will consider joining us in promoting crime prevention and making Texas a safer place.
Respectfully,
Scott C. Rhodes, TCPA President
